Im a Sentai Fanatic

Have you thought of your childhood days lately? Now that there's a show in GMA called Zaido, sentai shows came to my attension once again. I remember blogging about sentai series coming back to television. Looks like someone from GMA has been reading my unpopular blog *lol*.
I really like asian superheroes (sentai) than western (DC and MARVEL). Although I also collect comic books from Dc and Marvel but that's completely different from watching sentai. I grew up watching sentai and I still remember those days where we would watch it from our TV set with a huge cabinet (I wonder if someone still have those kind of tv sets until now).
My favorite sentai series is Bioman! Do you still remember how the first yellow 4 died? When I was a kid I thought superheroes can't die, But bioman was so original. I mean, it was a very kiddie stuff but at the same time it has an emotional touch on it. So they killed yellow 4 and then replaced her... that was an amazing idea "A member of a Superhero group dies" not only it attracted more kids and adult viewers it also started the "Death of Superheroes era"! They change what people thought... that superheroes can't die and they gave westerners ideas to produce more money by killing superheroes. So what DC did they killed Superman via Doomsday to keep readers buying new issues. And if Im right Superman vs Doomsday comic issues was so expensive that time and Superman's Death was even more. Those are vintage comics now. I know some people who has copies and they even frame those.
USA have Superman, JAPS have Bioman. What do we have? I prefer watching Lastikman than Zaido. I felt GMA is being a copycat. Mars Ravelo is one of the Pinoy's Sci-Fi hero creators although his creations have some western similarities Im still thankful that we have our very own Stanley. Btw my favorite Pinoy Superheroes are Pedro Penduko and Panday.
