Gorgeous is a romantic comedy with some fights. It is not an adventure film. It's not an action film. It's a romantic comedy with some fights. So, all who are looking for a Jackie Chan action extravaganza will be disappointed. But those looking for a funny love story with incredible fight scenes, this is your film. Jackie Chan stars as a multi-millionaire who's lives only with a butler and is very lonely. Along comes a girl named Bu, who got a message in a bottle and flies to Hong Kong to meet her prince. When things don't work out so well she runs in to Jackie, sparks fly and you all know the rest. The film is great as a different type of romantic comedy by adding in the fights. It mixes up the tempo a bit and some times it catches the viewer off guard, which is good. What the film has trouble in is the comedy. At times it's very funny and will get you giggling but at many times it tries too hard to be funny coming off just boring and dull. Jackie is Jackie and his acting chops are put to the test with this performance. He shows that he's versatile and not just the smiling death defying action hero he's known for. Other than Jackie the other performances are done to best of the actors' ability. They're OK but you don't really care for them and some of them gets very annoying. I give it an 8. It's a good romantic comedy with a dash a fantasy and some amazing Jackie Chan fight sequences sprinkled on top for extra flavor. If your a Chan fan it's a must see. For everyone else, rent it with a boyfriend or girlfriend. I think it's a film that just might please everyone. The movie title in Philippines is High Risk but in English International Title its Gorgeous.
